Point of sale
A till that takes a barcode and finishes the bill — and knows which piece left the shop.
- Scan the piece, not the product — Every garment carries its own barcode, so the till does not ask which size or which colour — it already knows, because it knows which piece.
- GST comes out of the tag, not on top of it — Indian retail prices are MRP.
- Cash, UPI and card on the same bill — A bill can be settled with more than one tender, and each is recorded separately, so the payments register adds up to the ledger rather than approximately agreeing with it..
- Sessions, and an honest cash close — The till opens with a counted float and closes with a counted drawer.
